Strange Interlude: Twitter Night
April 19 at 7:30 p.m.
$15 tickets will be made available to this evening’s performance as part of STC’s ongoing 35 and under program.
The Shakespeare Theatre Company will host an innovative Twitter conversation about the current production of Strange Interlude for patrons interested in further exploring and discussing the play in real time. The conversation will begin on Twitter prior to the 7:30 p.m. performance will continue during the two intermissions and after the curtains have closed.
Twitter is great for starting a conversation and keeping it going long after you’ve left the theatre. Join STC on Twitter before the show, during intermissions and after, for the chance to learn, chat and experience the play in an exciting new way! Plus, your tweets will be projected into the lobbies allowing the conversation to happen both online and in person. During the performance, however, leave the witty asides to the cast of Strange Interlude and keep your devices off.
The conversation will be moderated by STC’s Audience Enrichment Manager Hannah Hessel and allow audience members to learn more about the play, connect and discuss thoughts about the performance. Tweets will be broadcast in the lobbies in addition to being posted on STC’s Twitter account, @ShakespeareInDC, using the hashtag #STCnight. Patrons who previously purchased tickets, as well as those who have attended or will attend other performances are also welcome to join the conversation on Twitter.
The Shakespeare Theatre Company believes that within the theatre, audiences should be focused on the stage. In respect to the actors and other audience members, the theatre asks that patrons refrain from tweeting and using mobile devices during the performance.
