Washington, D.C. — The Shakespeare Theatre Company announces the launch of a new website, upgrading the look and functionality of ShakespeareTheatre.org to meet the demands of today’s audiences. The new design represents the culmination of a dedicated effort by members of the STC marketing team working with The Jake Group marketing/design firm over the past year.
After extensive study into the existing website’s analytics, user behavior and page traffic, The Jake Group and STC staff put together a website experience that will be significantly easier to navigate, will put ticket sales front and center and will make all the content the Company creates for its productions and programs easier to explore.
MAIN LANDING PAGE
The new ShakespeareTheatre.org landing page highlights the Company’s many programs and initiatives, providing direct access not only to tickets but also to Education, special events and important news. “Watch & Listen” offers a portal to explore STC’s extensive multimedia content, including videos, articles, podcasts and more.

OTHELLO SHOW PAGE
“Responding to how audiences engage with interactive technology was at the forefront of our design and functionality of the new site. We recognize the need to be accessible, both in person and online, to not only our ticket-buyers, subscribers and donors, but also those groups reached by our Education, Artistic and Development teams throughout the community,” says Michael Porto, Chief Marketing Officer. “We invite our patrons to dig deep into the new site and explore new ways to engage with STC online, whether via desktop or on their mobile devices.”
The updated ShakespeareTheatre.org will help the Shakespeare Theatre Company better serve the diverse population of visitors each year, including subscribers and patrons, donors, students and teachers and special event groups.

Recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award®, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) is the nation’s leading premier classical theatre company. Today, STC is synonymous with artistic excellence and making classical theatre more accessible to audiences in and around the nation’s capital.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Kahn and Executive Director Chris Jennings, STC’s innovative productions inspire dialogue that connects classic works to the modern human experience. Located in downtown Washington, D.C., STC performs in two theatres, the 451-seat Lansburgh Theatre and the 774-seat Sidney Harman Hall. In addition to STC productions appearing year-round, these spaces also accommodate presentations from outstanding local performing arts groups and nationally renowned organizations.
