Artistic Director Michael Kahn explores the Theban trilogy in a single-evening adaptation of Sophocles’ masterpieces from the golden age of Greek civilization. The epic tragedy of the Royal House of Thebes begins with the tale of Oedipus Rex, continues thirty years later with Oedipus at Colonus, and finally concludes with the fate of Oedipus’ children in Antigone.  Award-winning stage and television actor, Avery Brooks, last seen during our 1990-1991 season as Othello, makes his long-awaited return to The Shakespeare Theatre in this crowning achievement of Greek drama.
