Immerse yourself in acting techniques to foster your interactions in the business world. In this course, students will grow their skills to maximize the potential of every meeting, presentation, and negotiation. Learn how to listen and communicate more effectively and become more relaxed, present, and persuasive in the workplace through the study of physical, vocal, analytical, and textual techniques used by actors and directors in the theatre.

Emily Erickson is an actor, music director, composer, and teaching artist new to the Washington, D.C., area after a decade in New York. Recent acting credits include: Man Covets Bird (Spooky Action Theater), Fantastagirl and the Math Monster (Adventure Theatre MTC), Richard II (Her Majesty & Sons), Much Ado About Nothing (Chesapeake Shakespeare Company), and Working: A Musical (@workingindc). Emily is a recent MFA graduate of STC’s Academy for Classical Acting at The George Washington University and received her BFA from NYU. She has taught and worked as a voice coach at such institutions as IAMT, the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, NYU, Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, and Atlantic Theater Company and is currently also a teaching artist at Round House Theatre. When not on stage, Emi can be found running races or hiking in nature, noodling on any one of dozens of instruments she plays, or watching hockey.
