STC Invites Media/Social Media to Exclusive First Look at “Black Watch”

Did you see Black Watch when it hit D.C. during its sold-out run in early 2011 and want a closer look? Are you new to the production and want to see an advanced preview of select scenes?

Black Watch is back with a brand new cast and for the first time ever, the Shakespeare Theatre Company will be offering members of the media and social media community an exclusive first look.

STC will be holding a media/social media call during which theatre journalists, bloggers, members of the press and our social media fans will be allowed to snap photos, capture video and record audio of select scenes from the show. Attendees may then share this material with their readers, viewers and social media followers for an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at Black Watch.

Participants will also have the chance to engage in a post-scene Q&A session.

If you would like to be a part of this special media event, please submit your name and links to your website and/or social media channels to press@shakespearetheatre.org. The media/social media call will take place at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) on Wednesday, September 19. Please arrive by 11:15 a.m.

Seats are limited, so RSVP early.

Viewed through the eyes of those on the ground, Black Watch reveals what it means to be part of the legendary Scottish regiment, what it means to be part of the war on terror and what it means to make the journey home again. John Tiffany’s production makes powerful and inventive use of movement, music and song to create a visceral, complex and urgent piece of theatre that is as relevant now as ever. Black Watch was presented at STC in a limited sold-out run in early 2011.
